Sunset Hills is a historic and vibrant neighborhood located in Greensboro, North Carolina. Established in the early 20th century, the neighborhood features a diverse array of architectural styles, including Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, and Craftsman Bungalow designs. In 2013, Sunset Hills was recognized for its historical significance by being listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 2024 the neighborhood celebrated it's centennial by planting over 100 trees and installing a monument.
Residents of Sunset Hills enjoy a strong sense of community, with active participation in neighborhood events and initiatives. One of the most notable traditions is the annual 'Running of the Balls 5K' in December, where the community comes together to display festive lighted 'balls' that adorn the neighborhood during the holiday season. Other exciting traditions are Boo on the Block, Easter Egg Hunt, Rock the Block Summer Concert Series, Lighted Balls Workshop, Light the Park Party, Community Yard Sale, Park and Stream Clean ups and The Annual Pig Roast .
Situated just west of downtown Greensboro, Sunset Hills offers residents convenient access to urban amenities while maintaining a peaceful, residential atmosphere. The neighborhood's blend of historic charm and modern conveniences makes it a desirable place to live for those seeking a unique and welcoming community.
Sunset Hills is located in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The first homes were completed in 1925.
Sunset Hills was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.
